Day-26 .. Wyoming - Montana SCENERY !!

Today's travel to Ben & Christin's is all about the scenery!   Jim laid out an interesting route up to I-90.   Started out on Hwy.120 heading North.   On the left side was snow capped Carter Mountain driving up to Meeteetse.   About 30 miles into the drive I noticed an elk-caution sign. It had blinking lights all around it powered by a solar panel.   I thought .. 'wow, a blinking sign?'.   About 3 miles down the road I found out why.  What I thought was a car coming at me was a bull elk.   I slowed and he then sauntered off and jumped over the 4-foot ranch fence and trotted away.   I guess my adrenaline prevented me from grabbing my phone to take a picture.   Whoa!   Neat experience!

On the right side were interesting rock formations.

And, I'm sure you're asking .. "Joe, don't you have any historical signs?"

I saw this and thought 'oh no' .. was this more snow coming my way ?

whew!  .. it turned out OK  .. (until closer to Bozeman, yikes!)

At Belfry, I turned off of Hwy.120 onto Hwy.308 into .. very western Red Lodge.

Out of Red Lodge I took Hwy.78, a very beautiful drive along the Beartooth Range.

Continued up through Roscoe and Absarokee to I-90.      Along I-90 I marveled at the Absaroka and Gallatin mountain ranges leading into Bozeman,    But I also had to drive through rain, sleet, and snow to get to Ben and Christin's place.  Thankfully it didn't last long or stick to the road.

I had quite the welcome as Ben & Christin's girls had friends over for a sleepover!    Hugs from six little girls!!    The girls put their swimsuits on and played in the hot tub while Ben & Christin and I had a good visit.

Welcome to the their busy and loving household!
